Being in the travel business over the past 30 years has definitely given me, not only a great education and career, but a real insight into this wonderful planet of ours. I am so blessed to work with a great staff, including my daughter and son and to have fantastic clients. We have travelled the world together and I am always working on the next great adventure. People always ask what is my favorite destination and always I respond; Africa. See the animals up close and personal is always thrilling. I’ve been 11 times and can’t wait to go again.

I have worked at Sharon Carr Travel full time since 1996. After graduating from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1997 with a degree in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, I decided to remain in this business to pursue my passion for travel. I have 2 amazing children, Hannah and Holden, and I have passed the “travel bug” gene on to them. I feel so fortunate to be able to show them the world! My 2 all-time favorite destinations are China and South Africa, however my current love is putting together any “family-friendly” trip. We are big fans of the Disney Cruise Line in our family!

Favorite Destinations: Mexico and Disney World

I’m part of the family so I grew up in the travel business, and I’ve worked in the industry now full time since 2002. I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2001 with a BA in History, just short of a minor in Film, and also played for the lacrosse and hockey teams there. I certainly feel blessed to work with my lovely mom & sister, and the marvelous professionals in our office, in an exotic industry that has been such a big part of my life. I’ve been travelling extensively since I was an infant, but there are a few areas I’m especially knowledgeable on: US National Parks, Ski/Snowboard Vacations, Cruising, Africa, Sports/Adventure and Canada.

Favorite Destination: The Great Outdoors!

I joined Sharon Carr Travel in March of 1998 and feel absolutely blessed to work with such a wonderful family. It’s truly a pleasure to get to know all of our clients personally when we have the opportunity to escort a group and travel together. I am bilingual speak both Spanish & English fluently & specialize in leisure travel. I also enjoy traveling with my son and showing him another side of the world.

Destination Weddings, honeymoons, all-inclusive resort stays, cruises & family vacations are my specialty. I spend most of my weekends at the hockey rink watching my son play a sport he loves so much. My most memorable travel experience is traveling by train through the Canadian Rockies & seeing my son enjoy ice skating outdoors through an ice castle surrounded by beautiful mountains on Lake Louise in Banff, Canada.

I am a native of Dallas and married to Wayne Knowles for 47 years. We have four children and 6 grandchildren. I became a travel agent when all of our children were grown, however wanderlust struck at an early age for me. My parents believed in family vacations and we traveled usually to California, but chose different routes each time. Geography was also one of my favorite subjects in school. Because I also love people, being a Travel Consultant is a perfect combination of all three.

In working with Sharon Carr travel, I have the opportunity to meet and get to know so many wonderful people. My expertise is with Europe and Asia, the Caribbean and the USA, tours or cruises or independent travel. I enjoy working with groups or with individuals. Making travel dreams a reality is my goal!

I have always had a love of geography and so the travel business was a natural fit. I started off with a major in geology but I decided I didn’t want to be grounded in one place all the time. Travel was calling my name. It has always been so exciting to me to go to a new place and see what it is all about from the landscape to the culture and people.

I believe travel is the best education possible and no matter what, you can always learn something from the places you visit. I especially enjoy planning exotic trips as well as multigenerational family trips and honeymoons. Some of my favorite places to visit are Africa, Canada, and Hawaii.

Patricia “Pat” Ryan, a native and current resident of the Dallas, Texas area, believed even at an early age she was “born to cruise”. She began her career in the travel industry more than 27 years ago, starting in Florida for 12 years and now, after dedicating years to the business she adores, she has traveled the world many times and has been on every cruise line.

Pat is an Alaska expert, having recently accompanied her 35th group to Alaska. She is also very well versed in Europe, especially England and Italy, and South America. Pat looks forward to her future explorations and the relationship she enjoys with each group she accompanies
