PORTS OF CALL

Inside Passage
When you sail along the Inside Passage, the longest sheltered inland waterway in the world, where walls of ice rise from silver-blue seas and towering pines create a hundred shades of green. Just when is seems like the quietest place on earth, you’ll be startled by the sudden splash of a humpback whale breaking the surface. You’ll cherish every moment you spend sailing this world-famous, endlessly fascinating route.
Ketchikan
A town built on stilts, the renowned totem poles are proud reminders of the area’s still-strong native presence. Be sure to wander down Creek Street, the town’s now-innocent “red light” district. Make sure you see Misty Fjords, a national monument. And while you’re in the “Salmon Capital of the World”, sample the local fare at a salmon bake.
Juneau
Alaska’s colorful capital city, where you can view the mighty Mendenhall Glacier at sea level or during a thrilling helicopter ride. For still more fun, stroll through the historic People’s Wharf Neighborhood or swagger into the famous Red Dog Saloon.
Skagway
You can still hear the cries of “gold in the Yukon” still echoing from the steep canyon walls that once served as the gateway to gold rush country. Wonder in the romance and excitement of yesteryear as you walk through the town of false-front buildings and wood plank sidewalks, the action is at the playfully “naughty” Red Onion Saloon and in the Days of ’98 Saloon Theater. For a real sense of the past, travel aboard the narrow-gauge White Pass and Yukon Railroad.
