The Albuquerque Balloon Festival is a world-renowned attraction and destination for kids of all ages. For more than three decades, the first week in October brings the smell of roasting chiles, and the beautiful, magical moving picture show of hot air balloons sailing silently through the crisp fall air. Guests from all over the world come to Albuquerque to celebrate ballooning. Literally hundreds of balloons take flight from the Balloon Fiesta Park every October. From its modest beginnings in 1972 with 13 balloons launching from a shopping mall parking lot, the Balloon Fiesta has grown to multiple events launching year-round at the custom-designed, 365-acre Balloon Fiesta Park. Our signature event remains Balloon Fiesta—which, with 700 balloons, is the largest ballooning event on earth, the most photographed event on earth, and the largest annual international event held in the United States.

Day 1 Arrive Albuquerque:
Fly from DAL to ABQ. Welcome to ABQ where the spirit of Route 66 still thrives. Tonight, don your poodle skirt or leather jacket for a dinner at the 66 Diner with its 1950s jukebox and blue plate specials that have hardly changed since the heyday of the “Main Street of America”. Day 2 Albuquerque Balloon Festival
Rise early to watch the greatest show in the air. Gaze in wonder as hundreds of brightly colored hot air balloons rise into the clear blue autumn sky. Enjoy access to the Chasers Club which includes seating in a private patio located on the north end of Balloon Fiesta Park. Beverages, cookies and a hot food item such as enchiladas, fajitas, green chile cheeseburgers or frito pie are available. Spend some time exploring the grounds and then gather again for the spectacular Balloon Glow where all the balloons light their burners in unison to illuminate the night sky. Day 3 Santa Fe
This morning travel from the 50’s to the colorful artists’ mecca of Santa Fe. Embark on a private trolley tour to see the sights of Santa Fe and soak up the atmosphere of one of the West’s most interesting towns. Unparalleled in richness of history, heritage, arts and culture. Then, visit a local artist’s studio and learn how this Local Expert captures the Southwest’s magical light in his landscapes. Enjoy the afternoon on your own to explore the old downtown, including the Eldorado Hotel, Loretto Chapel and St Francis Cathedral. Perhaps do some shopping at a local gallery, follow in the footsteps of Kit Carson on a walking tour or pamper yourself in one of Santa Fe’s elegant spas. Meals Bkfst – Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza
Day 4 Santa Fe – Taos Excursion
After breakfast head to Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage site that has been continuously inhabited for more than 1000 years. Learn about the traditional lifestyle and beliefs of the Pueblo Indians and visit the striking adobe chapel of San Geronimo. This evening, gather with your Travel Director and traveling companions for a festive Farewell Dinner. Meals Bkfst, Farewell Dinner – Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza
Day 5 – Depart
After breakfast this morning bid farewell to your Travel Director. A complimentary group transfer will be provided to the Albuquerque airport for your return flight back to DAL. Meals: Bkfst

Payments & Cancellations
An $800 deposit is due with booking. Final payment is due July.15, 2017. The advertised price represents a 5% discount for payments made by cash or check. The price is 5% higher for a credit card payment and requires an authorized signature. We accept AX, Visa, MC and DISCOVER. Legal first and last names must be given as stated on identification. (No nicknames). Name changes may be made up to 60 days prior to departure for $200 per name change.
CANCELLATIONS: If cancelled before July 15, 2017, a fee of $500 per person is assessed. If cancelled on or after July 15, trip is non refundable. Please understand that vendors are very strict with regard to cancellation. No exceptions can be made.

Insurance: Cancellation insurance is highly recommended. Insurance information will be provided to you, along with your confirmation. If for some reason you have not been given an insurance application, please call our office immediately.
