Highlights: Take a tour of the Monastery of Kloster Wernberg originally a castle, today home to 60 Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood with whom you’ll enjoy a traditional Carinthian dinner.  Visit the Lipizzaner Stud Farm at Piber which has bred horses since 1920 and today provides all the stallions for the Spanish Riding School in Vienna.

Day 1 – Monday – Dec 10, 2018 – Fly from DFW to Zurich

Day 2 – Tuesday – Dec 11, 2018 – Arrive Zurich – Welcome to Zurich.  After check-in, your Travel Director takes you on an orientation tour of Switzerland’s financial capital before you enjoy a Welcome Reception with your fellow travelers at a local restaurant.  Meals (Welcome Dinner) Overnight – Zurich

Day 3 – Wednesday – Dec 12, 2018 – Zurich, Liechtenstein, Salzburg Sightseeing – A scenic drive along Lake Zurich brings you to Liechtenstein where you stop at its capital Vaduz.  Follow the Arlberg route into the Tyrol, past the pretty skiing area around St Joann and the Wilder Kaiser Mountains to Salzburg.  This impressive city is dominated by Fortress Hohensalzburg.  Your local Specialist shows you a wealth of fascinating sights during your walking tour, including Mozart’s family house and the Domplatz. Meals (bkfst) – Overnight – Salzburg

Day 4 –Thursday –  Dec 13, 2018 – Salzburg – Vienna – Admire breathtaking scenery as you travel past Lake Mondsee and through the Wachau Valley to see the impressive Melk Abbey en route to Imperial ViennaMeals (bkfst) – Overnight – Vienna

Day 5 – Friday – Dec 14, 2018 – Vienna is a beautiful city featuring grand palaces and buildings such as the State Opera, the Hofburg, St Stephens Cathedral, the Parliament and the Imperial Boulevards.  Marvel at all these wonderful sights with your Local Specialist.  Stroll through the oldest part of the city – “Am Hof”.  Spend time afterwards exploring on your own. This is the perfect time to visit the Vienna Christmas market.  Tonight why not enjoy a Viennese concert? (optional)           Meals (bkfst)      – Overnight – Vienna

Day 6 –Saturday –  Dec 15, 2018 – Vienna – Graz – Piber Stud Farm – Villach – Admire galleried courtyards and Renaissance squares in Graz.  Visit the Lipizzaner Stud Farm at Piber for a Cultural insight into the breeding of the athletic white stallions for the Spanish Riding Scholl.  This evening, enjoy a Be My Guest dinner with the sisters of Kloster Wernberg.  Meals (bkfst) Be My Guest Dinner – Overnight Villach

Day 7 – Sunday – Dec 16, 2018 – Villach – Cortina d’Ampezzo – Innsbruck The Alpine scenery is breathtaking as you drive into Italy via Carbonin and lake Misurina to the Tre Croci Pass.  Explore Cortina d’Ampezzo, the Olympic skiing resort set in the heart of the Dolomites.  Traverse spectacular mountina passes as you cross back into Austria.  At Innsbruck admire the Golden Roof, St Jakob’s Cathedral, the Hofburg Palace and see the Olympic ski-jump during your orientation tour. Meals (bkfst) – Overnight – Innsbruck

Day 8 – Monday – Dec 17, 2018 – Innsbruck – Engelberg – Lucerne – This morning, enjoy a horse carriage ride through the countryside of Engelberg.  Afterwards, cross back into Switzerland, arriving to the charming town of Lucerne.  View the Chapel Bridge and visit the Lion Monument, built in the memory of Louis XVI’s Swiss Guards, during your orientation tour.  Tonight, celebrate with your travelling companions at a Farewell Dinner.  Meals (bkfst, farewell dinner) – Overnight – Lucerne

Day 9 –Tuesday –  Dec 18, 2018 – Lucerne – Zurich – Say goodbye to Europe and your new-found friends at the end of this amazing vacation.  You will be transferred to the airport for your flights back to DFW.

IMPORTANT NOTE: As you can see from the above itinerary, it is very active with a great deal of daily moving, and being on time to the bus each day is vital to the success of this tour.  If this type of tour is difficult for you, please consider one of our other tours.  We want you to be happy!!!

Seat Assignments: Most carriers are now holding most of the coach section of each aircraft for seat purchase.  We have no control over the pricing or inventory of advanced seating.  If you wish to have advance purchased seats please let us know ASAP.  Payment in full is required at time of early ticketing request.  Please call our office, ask for the group coordinator of this tour to discuss your options.

Payments & Cancellations

PAYMENTS:    A $900 deposit is due with booking.  Final payment is due Aug 15, 2018.  The advertised price represents a 5% discount for payments made by cash or check.  The price is 5% higher for a credit card payment and requires an authorized signature. We accept AX, Visa, MC and DISCOVER.  Legal first and last names must be given as stated on identification. (No nicknames).  Name changes may be made up to 60 days prior to departure for $200 per name change.

CANCELLATIONS: If cancelled before Aug 15, 2018, a fee of $600 per person is assessed.  If cancelled on or after Aug 15, trip is non refundable. Please understand that vendors are very strict with regard to cancellation.  No exceptions can be made.

A valid passport is required for this tour.  Passport must be valid 6 months after trip return.  If you are not a US citizen it is your responsibility to check with your consulate to see if a visa is required.  Failure to have proper documents could result in denied boarding by the airlines.

Insurance: Cancellation insurance is highly recommended.  Insurance information will be provided to you and must be booked within 15 days of your initial deposit in order to cover “pre-existing conditions”.  If for some reason you have not been given an insurance application, please call our office immediately.  Please read the information brochure carefully before sending payment to the insurance carrier.

SHARON CARR TRAVEL will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to luggage during the tour.  Also, SHARON CARR TRAVEL will not be liable regarding provision of medical care or the adequacy of any care that may be rendered.  Acceptance of the Tour Contract will serve as a Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk Agreement.  This agreement is binding on your heirs, legal representatives and assigns.  If, for some reason, a trip must be rescheduled due to any of the above reasons, participants are bound by the new dates of travel, and can only obtain a refund if insurance has been purchased and insurer is contractually bound.
